Workshops

My workshops are designed to be relaxed, creative and enjoyable, giving you the opportunity to learn the art of buttercream piping in a welcoming environment.

Please read the following terms before booking.

 1.⁠ ⁠Bookings and payment

•⁠ ⁠Places are limited and confirmed once full payment has been received.

•⁠ ⁠All workshop tickets must be paid for in advance.

•⁠ ⁠Your booking is for the specific workshop, date and time stated at the time of purchase.

•⁠ ⁠Please ensure your booking details are correct.

 2.⁠ ⁠Cancellations by participants

I understand that plans can change. As workshops involve advance preparation of ingredients, materials and individual places, the following policy applies:

•⁠ ⁠More than 14 days before the workshop: Please contact me to discuss a refund or transfer. Any amount retained will reflect reasonable, non-recoverable costs incurred, where applicable.

•⁠ ⁠7–14 days before the workshop: Transfers may be offered at my discretion, subject to availability and whether your place can be filled.

•⁠ ⁠Within 7 days of the workshop: Refunds or transfers are not normally available, as ingredients and materials will already have been prepared or purchased. However, please contact me if your circumstances change, and I will do my best to help.

Any cancellation charges or deductions will be fair, proportionate and consistent with applicable consumer law.

 3.⁠ ⁠Transferring your place

If you are unable to attend, you may request to transfer your place to another person. Please contact me in advance so that I can confirm the change.

Transfers to a different workshop date are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

 4.⁠ ⁠Non-attendance and late arrival

If you are unable to attend and have not contacted me in advance, your booking will be treated as a missed session and no refund will normally be offered.

Please arrive on time so that you can enjoy the full workshop. Late arrivals may miss essential demonstrations or instructions.

 5.⁠ ⁠Cancellations or changes by The Village Baker

In the unlikely event that I need to cancel a workshop, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to an alternative date.

If a workshop needs to be postponed, I will contact all participants as soon as possible and explain the available options.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

 6.⁠ ⁠Workshop materials and finished creations

All standard ingredients, buttercream, piping equipment and materials specified in the workshop description will be provided.

You will be able to take home the creations stated in the workshop description. As buttercream piping is a handmade process, individual results will naturally vary.

Please follow all instructions relating to the safe handling, storage and transportation of your finished cakes or cupcakes.

 7.⁠ ⁠Allergies and dietary requirements

Please inform me of any allergies or dietary requirements before booking.

Although I will do my best to provide relevant information, I cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent cross-contamination. Please contact me before booking if you have a serious allergy so we can discuss whether the workshop is suitable for you.

 8.⁠ ⁠Photography and social media

Photographs may be taken during workshops to showcase the creations and activities of The Village Baker.

I will seek your permission before using identifiable photographs or videos of you for marketing purposes. You are welcome to let me know if you would prefer not to be photographed.

 9.⁠ ⁠Workshop conduct

I ask all participants to treat the venue, equipment and other attendees with respect.

Please follow any safety instructions given during the session. The Village Baker reserves the right to ask a participant to leave if their behaviour poses a genuine safety risk or seriously disrupts the workshop, subject to applicable law.

10.⁠ ⁠Acceptance of terms

By completing your booking, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions.
